Boris Sudakov

Boris Sudakov, born in 1982, is a violin maker with over 20 years of experience and a professional musician, who has dedicated his life to creating unique Italian violins. He uses only traditional hand tools, carefully selecting every material. His work is the result of precise effort, where he combines timeless Italian traditions with a deep commitment to the art, helping musicians express themselves in a unique and unparalleled way.

For many years, I have been engaged in the search and recreation of natural, traditional Italian pigments and varnishes. I wrote a study on these pigments and defended my bachelor thesis dedicated to traditional pigments. I apply this experience in my work, recreating violins with special attention to color and texture.Traditional varnishes and pigments are able to convey the full depth of the instrument.

Traditions

Over many years, I have studied intensively with leading German professors, such as Professor Eberhard Meinel and Gunter Ziegenhals, in the field of acoustic physics. Their authoritative methods and pioneering theories of resonance, modal vibrations, and spectral analysis have shaped my profound understanding of acoustic phenomena. Thanks to this, I have learned to achieve the traditional Italian sound in my instruments, attaining refined harmony, precise timbral coloration, and optimal acoustic balance.

Philosophy

Art

Art as philosophy views artistic creation not only as a form of aesthetic expression but also as a way of understanding the world. Through form, image, and symbol, the artist comprehends fundamental questions of being, time, harmony, and human existence.

In this sense, art becomes a special form of thinking, where ideas are expressed not through abstract concepts, but through visual, auditory, or figurative structures. A work of art becomes a space for philosophical reflection, in which form and content form a single, meaningful whole.

Music

Music plays a vital role in human life and has accompanied us throughout human history. It has the power to convey emotions and feelings that are sometimes impossible to express in words. Through music, people share joy, sorrow, hope, and inspiration.

Acoustic physics

In practical terms, acoustic physics enables the manipulation of sound: creating musical instruments with specific acoustic properties, improving the sound of concert halls, and analyzing complex acoustic processes. Thus, it connects fundamental physics with the art of sound and musical practice.

Proportions

A precise understanding and application of proportional relationships enables an artist or craftsman to create an expressive and stable artistic form in which every detail is in a logical and aesthetic relationship with the overall composition.

visuality 4.jpg

Visuality

Professional visualization requires a developed spatial understanding and a precise understanding of proportions and compositional principles. This allows the artistic concept to acquire clarity, coherence, and expressiveness.
